On July 22, 2026, RoadKing Insurance Agency, in collaboration with TruckNet LLC, hosted a free Maintenance & Inspections Training with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for the San Diego trucking community.
The training was held at TruckNet in Otay Mesa and brought together fleet owners, owner-operators, drivers, and maintenance personnel for an educational session focused on commercial vehicle safety, preventive maintenance, and compliance.
Learning Directly from CHP
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was giving members of the trucking community the opportunity to receive information directly from the California Highway Patrol about issues that can impact their daily operations.
The training covered important topics including:
Preventive maintenance
Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)
Brakes, tires, lights, and other critical vehicle components
Common causes of Out-of-Service violations
Required records and documentation
Commercial vehicle inspections and compliance
Preventive measures to help reduce violations and avoid fines
The training also included a Q&A session, giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance about real-world situations they encounter in their operations.
